The questions people ask before booking. Nothing here is hidden behind a click, so you can read the whole page in one go.
What can you help with?
Phones, tablets and computers; email, calendars and online accounts; photographs; Wi-Fi and printers; smart televisions and streaming; the NHS App and online forms; passwords, two-factor authentication and scam awareness; practical uses of AI; and choosing or moving to a new device. There is a fuller list on help at home.
How much does a home visit cost?
£89 for 90 minutes for a first or standard appointment. Returning customers can book a focused 60-minute follow-up for £59. Prices are per appointment rather than per hour, and travel is included in the core area. Full details on prices.
Will you need my passwords?
No. You type your own passwords, always. I do not record or keep passwords or recovery codes, and I will never ask for a banking password or a card PIN. There is more on this under online safety.
Can you help with online banking?
I can help with the technology around it — a banking app that will not load, a security setting, a notification you do not understand. What I will not do is operate your banking, move money, buy investments or make financial decisions for you, and I will not ask for your banking credentials.
Can I arrange a visit for my parent?
Yes, and you are welcome to pay for it. The person receiving the visit is the customer, though: their consent is needed before I touch any device, and any summary to you is shared only with their agreement. See help for a parent.
Do you charge for travel?
No, once I have confirmed that your postcode falls within the area I cover. I normally keep journeys to about 20 minutes from north-west Loughborough. See the area I cover.
Do you repair broken hardware?
No. Specialist hardware repair, board-level diagnostics and high-risk data recovery are outside what I offer. If that is what you need, I will say so rather than take it on.
Do you provide business IT support?
No. This is one-to-one help for individuals and households. There is no managed IT, no network administration and no contractual response times.
Is remote support available?
Booked remote appointments run on Fridays, at £30 for 30 minutes or £55 for 60 minutes. At the moment they are for customers I have already visited, so that a first appointment happens in person. See remote support.
Can I phone whenever I have a problem?
There is no open help desk, and I would rather be honest about that than have you wait on a call. The free introductory call is for working out what you need and booking it. Ongoing help is by appointment.
Tell me what you would like to sort out
Call or email Simon now to discuss what you need and whether he can help. The free introductory call is for checking suitability and arranging an appointment. Home appointments begin Monday 19 October 2026.
Home visits run Monday to Thursday, in slots through the day. Remote support is booked on Fridays and is currently for customers I have already visited.
